Montreal, May 11, 2009 – Produced by Inpix, the world’s first virtual geocaching game, La Cache, won an Official Honoree Distinction from the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS).
Every year, the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences rewards the best interactive achievements around the world. This year, more than 10,000 entries were submitted in nearly 70 categories. It was with great pride that Inpix saw lacache.tv, one of its most daring projects, recognized by the jury in the Games category.
Designed for youth aged 12 to 17, lacache.tv is a hunt for lost objects in several major North American cities. Based on a novel use of the Google Maps Street View tool and financed by the Bell Fund, lacache.tv ties in with the TV show La Cache, produced by Novem Télévision and broadcast on VRAK.TV.
“Being chosen by the Academy is a great honour, especially since we’re in the company of firms such as JWT, Disney Interactive, Euro RSCG, and NBC. The honour is even greater when you consider that Inpix is the only Canadian agency to be recognized in the Games category. We faced a triple challenge in creating La Cache: to design an online game that captivated young people, to remain faithful to the spirit of the TV series, and to follow the editorial stance at VRAK.TV,” explains Normand Bélisle, president of Inpix.
